Here's the caboose - hope it's OK. The railing around the rear platform will stand out more once draped with tinsel or whatever. Attachments:

What a phenomenal turnout by the spectators amassed along both sides of Honolulu Avenue on Saturday evening -- and by the Peace Train passengers and crew, including Glendale Peace Vigil members Sharon, Bill and Nancy. The Montrose Peace Vigil contingent numbered 23 because Jeanne, Paige and Forrest walked back to board the Peace Train just as we were leaving the station, after their Crescenta Valley United Methodist Church entry had completed the entire route.
The parade is one huge deal in Montrose. I really didn't know that, never having attended nor seen the parade reruns shown repeatedly on cable television only in Glendale. After standing on the corner for five years, I knew it would be a trip to march down the same street promoting peace past many of the same people who had driven and walked by me. Their goodwill was beautiful, especially the young children pointing, dancing and shouting, "Peace Train!"
Anni has a couple of photos she wants to post later. We welcome all others. If you don't know how to put them on the message board yourself, please e-mail them to Anni, Roberta or me.

Please excuse me bringing these to the top again, but looking at them cheers me up just a little after the recent tax deal. If something can still be called a "deal" if one side gets almost nothing and gives away the store. And are we supposed to regard the "payroll tax", meaning social security contribution, holiday as a boon for working people? Yes, paychecks will be a little bigger, but social security isn't part of the budget deficit, and just watch the Republicans jump on this as more evidence of SS insolvency and need for privatization. On the other hand, the wars, a huge part of the deficit, aren't mentioned, that I've noticed. OK, back to the parade -- has anyone watched it on Charter cable? Should I try to bring a panel (the front?) to the corner on Friday? Anni, thanks very much for taking and posting the photos!

That's a great idea, Roberta...(the front panel) and maybe someone at both Parade and Corner will conflate the two...Love it!
