I'm still worried, call me Louisa. I saw her on teevee on Sunday on NBC's election lookback.

Man, I wish I made a tape of Louisa and Hillary in Puerto Rico -- there's been plenty of opportunities.
I saw the numbers for Prop 8 with 22 percent counted. I'm not too worried because I believe that L.A. County will vote heavily against it. From long experience, the first ballot boxes don't come in until 10 p.m. with the bulk arriving between midnight and 1.

8 not looking good at all so hope you are right about L.A. Co. Brian. The website John is using on the props is not bringing up the maps, he thinks it is just too busy. The prediction about heavy African-Am vote buoying 8 may turn out to be true.

The African American share of the L.A. County votes isn't as big as it used to be. But I share your concern. I remember Karl Rove tapped the black churches in southeastern Ohio because they were against the state's anti-gay marriage initiative to benefit Bush in 2004. And I just saw a minister who supported Obama at the Yes on 8 party talking on the local news.
But I also watched a live shot from the registrar's headquarters, where I'd sometimes smoke a cigarette, and the guys who receive the ballot boxes are standing around waiting.

Then I can toddle off to bed with some hope. Thanks to all for the good company tonight, as always!

Sweet dreams, Roberta!
Meanwhile, I'm considering breaking out the strong ale.
The latest results from the registrar's official website has Prop 8 losing in L.A. County 53 to 47 with 61 percent counted. That's 1.4 million votes so far. Geez.
Perhaps I overestimated the effectiveness of the progressive coalition or underestimated the power of religious bigotry. Or both, I don't know.
How weird that we as a nation might finally have addressed if not erased race as an issue while California succumbs to another, maybe more pervasive kind of bigotry.
