A good turnout of stalwarts ended Montrose Peace Vigil's seventh year of continuous weekly vigils near the Vietnam War Memorial at Ocean View Boulevard and Honolulu Avenue. We were joined this Friday by Joyce, who's marched with our Peace Train in the Montrose Christmas Parade and with us against the war in Iraq on Hollywood Boulevard. She finally got off work before 7. Joyce boosted our average this month: - Dec. 7 - 7
- Dec. 14 - 10
- Dec. 21 - 12
- Dec. 28 - 9
December's average attendance rounds up to 10 participants per week, compared to 11 for November and October. Ten was also the average for September, August and July 2012 – and for December 2011 and 2010 as well. The weekly average for all of 2012 was 11, one less participant per week than for 2011. As posted on the corner, here are this week's Defense Department announcements of military deaths: Attachments:

We had 7 participants: Bill and I, Nancy, Henry, Varaz, Chris (via bicycle), and newcomer Anushan (spelling ?) who wants to hold a memorial ceremony/vigil for those killed at the Sandy Hook school in Connecticut but also for all victims of violence. She's come by the corner before but this was the first time she stopped and held signs. She and Nancy exchanged contact information and we hope she'll become a regular participant.
