[/quoteI will press on because I know the rest of you will also. Let's envision --and work and plan toward -- a local Rethink Afghanistan showing and even longer term, a local space for peace.]
Yes, Roberta, we will press on. It is a combination of our individual convictions and emotional/moral/social support from our group that can keep us swimming upstream. I'm thinking of MLK, Gandhi, and Jesus. They all had comrades to sustain and inform their movements. On any given day, a few of us will be off and a few will be on.
Concerning our new goals...opinions? What would be the first step, contacting Mike Lawler with the concept or finding a landscape architect with the design?

... Concerning our new goals...opinions? What would be the first step, contacting Mike Lawler with the concept or finding a landscape architect with the design? I think we can put bugs in several ears - and see what develops. There's a historical society meeting Monday night, 7 pm at the Center for Spiritual Living (the former La Crescenta Church of Religious Science) at the corner of Dunsmore and Santa Carlotta. This month it's on the Mission Indian revolts. I may be at a GPAC meeting but Bill will be there projecting the photos. If anyone has an interest that's a good time to speak with Mike Lawler and his wife Pam. Bill is sometimes crazed with last minute changes in presentations so he can't be counted on to remember to talk to Mike about it. Meanwhile, if anybody knows Bob McFall, the assistant city manager, it would be good to approach him too. He's been taking photos of Rockhaven and knows the most about the buildings and grounds. George Chapjian, head of Glendale Parks & Rec is another good person to bring the idea to. Council member Laura Friedman's husband, Guillaume Lemoine, is a landscape designer who specializes in drought tolerant gardens - they might be interested too. He works with Green Glendale, green-glendale.org/index.php , the people who did the community garden by the Glendale Ave offramp of the 134 (land left over from the building of the freeway that had been a weed and trash filled empty lot for decades and now produces fruit and veggies.)
