You did it again, Oss Rae -- another excellent report with great photos on Indymedia. Thanks for posting the link here! Jeanne took the day off to be in Pershing Square on Friday. She told me that the crowd was large -- definitely numbering in the thousands as your photo proves -- and she couldn't hear the speakers. Someone I read sneered that the sound system was solar powered. Monday evening, before the sun set and autumn began, about 50 climate activists occupied the middle of the intersection between Amoeba Records and the CNN building in Hollywood, shutting down vehicular traffic on Sunset Boulevard and Cahuenga Boulevard for an hour. They moved back to the sidewalks after the helicopters and the swarm of LAPD cars showed up. Cahuenga, by the way, is the Spanish name for the Tongva village of Kawengna, meaning "place of the mountain."
