I was glad to see this in the news this morning. There's so little discussion about the ongoing nuclear threat, which is much more dangerous than even climate change.

This is a lovely tribute to brave protesters. I probably won’t go to jail to abolish nuclear weapons, but we can speak out, post, rattle cages of leaders, donate to activist groups, etc.

Awk!!! This wasn't a nice story to wake up to in the morning!
NYT: Major U.S.-Russia Nuclear Arms Treaty Could Expire Without Being Replaced
The New York Times is reporting that the United States and Russia may be left without nuclear arms limitation treaties, which would allow the two countries to expand their nuclear arsenals without limits. President Trump pulled the United States out of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces agreement. Now a Russian arms official says there may not be enough time to renegotiate and replace another more important nuclear agreement, the New START treaty, before it expires in early 2021.
As usual, most Americans seem to remain in denial about the greatest threat to the planet that's also one of our biggest expenditures.

The Kings Bay Plowshares 7 were convicted on all counts on the fourth day of their trial, and they face up to 25 years in federal prison. Six of the seven are free pending sentencing; the other protester would not agree to the court's conditions for release. Here is the group's website containing daily accounts of the trial, other articles, videos and photos, and links to a petition and a GoFundMe page: kingsbayplowshares7.org/#background

More on this case and also Pope Francis calls nuclear weapons immoral. Daniel Ellsberg included in discussion (11-25-19):
