March 20: "A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood" screens

Tom Hanks received an Academy Award nomination last year for Best Supporting Actor for the next movie screening at Crescenta Valley United Methodist Church.  Jeanne tells us about it:

Greetings, Friends,

We have a wonderful film for you on Friday, March 20th. “A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood” tells the story of the relationship that develops between Fred Rogers (Tom Hanks) and a reporter (Matthew Rhys) who has been assigned to profile the children’s television personality. It is an encouraging demonstration of the transformation that can take place when a wounded skeptic is met with radical kindness, when an investigative journalist who has been digging for dirt and finding it, finds gold for once.

I hope that you’ll come and watch it with us at Crescenta Valley United Methodist Church, 2700 Montrose Avenue, Montrose, CA 91020. Doors will open at 7 and the film begins at 7:30. We will serve refreshments and stay for conversation after the film.
