Prop 15

Yes on Prop 15: Campaign Kickoff
Public · Hosted by Democratic Socialists of America, Sacramento, Santa Barbara Democratic Socialists of America and 3 others
Details
Join DSA members from across California in our statewide campaign kickoff for Prop 15. Together we are going to tax the rich to fund our schools and services!
Prop 15, Schools and Communities First, is a statewide measure on November’s ballot. It will close a tax loophole that gives away billions of dollars a year to large commercial property owners (e.g. Disney, Chevron, Apple) and wealthy investors to fund K-12 public schools and community colleges as well as local public services like parks, libraries, homeless services, health clinics, and public transit.
California is the wealthiest state in the wealthiest country in the world, but the vast riches of our state are hoarded by the capitalist class. We know they won’t give up their wealth — wealth created by ordinary working Californians — without a fight.
Our digital rally will outline our goals and plan to win this November, as well how DSA members can get involved. Learn how to pass an endorsement of Prop 15 in your chapter, how to start a Prop 15 working group, how to phone bank for Prop 15, and how to best use our digital toolkit to get out the vote.
We will also enjoy a live musical performance and hear from guest speakers including:
Keith Brown - President, Oakland Education Association
Jackie Fielder - Candidate for CA State Senate, member of DSA San Francisco
Maikiko James - DSA National Political Committee, member of DSA-LA
Jen Esteen - VP of organizing, SEIU 1021
