Sunland-Tujunga Forward and Against Bigotry, Responding with Action need help for this year's Indigenous Peoples Day. This message was posted on FB on Sept.15: Friends, ST Forward learned yesterday that our Neighborhood Council will not be funding the grant we requested for Indigenous Peoples Day. We need to raise another $2500 within the next 3 weeks. All contributions are welcomed and much needed! Please consider contributing to this important community event and to uplifting the stories, poetry, songs, and wisdom of Indigenous people. All donations are tax deductible: Link to donate: givebutter.com/eNip2j/stforwardThank you for your support and we hope to see you and your loved ones there on October 9th!

Thanks for starting this thread, Sharon! After you posted, ABRA sent an e-mail with that fundraising link saying, "We will be bringing Aztlan Underground, Tongva poet Kelly Caballero, and Tongva culture bearer Lázaro Arvizu to the event, and we want to compensate these amazing Indigenous artists, singers, presenters, and poets for what they will share with us." Here's the link to the event's Facebook page: www.facebook.com/events/438923471548243/?active_tab=about

I'm bumping up this thread back to the homepage because Sunland-Tujunga Indigenous Peoples' Day 2022 is coming this Sunday, October 9. So far, Sunland-Tujunga Forward has raised 77 percent of its $4,500 goal for the event. Here's that donation link again: givebutter.com/eNip2j/stforward
