Please join us in solidarity in this request, through action or in collective thoughts or prayers, that his remains return home. He is a relative and deserves to be buried and not studied for the sake of science. He deserves to be sent home with those from the surrounding tribal groups supporting his journey.
He was born in the Santa Monica Mountains, the same joint Chumash/Tongva Lands I was born on. I humbly request this from those organizations who are currently storing his remains and those in charge of the decision making process. Do the right thing.
A more specific request for all of us via Idle No More:
Please call Miguel Ordeñana and request that P22 remains be returned to his homeland in Griffith Park and that the Chumash-Tongva people granted access to provide him a proper ceremony. Thank you.

However, no contact info. for Ordeñana was provided.

Here's a happy ending, Oss Rae: Tuesday's Los Angeles Times reported that P-22 was buried in a ceremony Saturday by four local tribes in an undisclosed location on the land where he was born.
