Jeanne, Roberta and I chatted with our visitors and Grant and Nick are in high school - although they do look and sound older. Grant said "I'm still a junior - I'm just tall." They said they may be back next week.

Three of our stalwarts won't be able to make it ... One of these stalwarts has suggested that we hand out "peaces" of candy at Montrose's Spooktacular - shopmontrose.com/halloween-trick-or-treat-spooktacular/ - on Thursday evening, October 31. I'm game if others are -- perhaps those who have to miss Friday? It starts at 5:00pm and ends when the candy runs out, so since the stalwarts are working stiffs, I'll let them say what time would be good.

And only for a shortish time...

Nancy H. and I, AKA The Originals, and it looks like Anni at some point -- hurray! -- will be at the corner at 5:30, with candy and who knows what else.
Be there or be square.

The 3 Good Witches of the Crescenta Valley congratulate ourselves on another fun presence for peace in Montrose. Anni and I found parking and were on the corner at 5:30, followed shortly by Nancy H. who had major Halloween traffic heading to WeHo to contend with. I set up the MPV sign giving our usual vigil day/time, stating "since 2006."
We handed out our last candy at about 7:15.
Heard at the corner "Would you like a "peace" of candy from the Montrose Peace Vigil?", "Give Peace a Chance," and finally as one of us got dingy, "Give a "peace" of candy a chance." Numerous people made the connection with the Friday group and thanked us.
Oh, and we helped rescue and reunite a lost boy with his mom. All in a night's work!
