lol....I forgot that it was Groundhog's Day! If you are able to attend the Candidate's Forum please wear a golf cap/baseball cap. It will let the candidates know how many people at the meeting support saving the golf course.

Used without permission -- I hope Lloyd and Marlene don't mind! The Cultural Heritage Commission meets this Thursday, April 18, at City Hall to address the proposal to designate the Verdugo Hills Golf Course as a Historic-Cultural Monument for being the site of an internment camp from 1941-43. Karen Zimmerman sent out an excellent eBlast late Monday night, reporting on the Cultural Heritage Commission hearing at City Hall and looking forward after the defeat. She winds up with a reflection on Earth Week, adding some key links. In case you didn't get your eBlast: www.gcvoice.org/emails/2013Apr22.htm

This page of the Save the Verdugo Hills Golf Course thread began last October with the proposal to designate part of the property that was the Tuna Canyon Detention Station as a City Historic-Cultural Monument. First, let's bring the story up to date with this report from Glendale-Crescenta VOICE about last Tuesday's Planning and Land Use Committee meeting at City Hall: www.gcvoice.org/emails/2013Jun13.htmBy Friday, the City Council had decided to ignore the committee and hear the motion anyway, before all the new guys take over on July 1. VOICE will again charter a bus to the meeting on Friday morning, June 21, starting in Sunland-Tujunga. Here's the eBlast with details and links: www.gcvoice.org/emails/2013Jun17-bus.htm
