Free Leonard Peltier Rally Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2022 at 6:30 PM
Wilshire Federal Building 11000 Wilshire Blvd, LA
Free the Land! Free the People! FREE LEONARD PELTIER! Tuesday, November 1, 6:30 pm 11000 Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90024 - Speakers, Songs, Prayers, Drum - Relatives, come out to kick off Native American Heritage Month in a good way. To our allies and non-Native folks, this is your opportunity to show up and support an important issue facing Native Country... the need for compassionate release of Native Elder Leonard Peltier, who should be FREE! We are sending our community voice to President Biden, to grant him clemency! Mr. Peltier, a member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians, is serving two life sentences after being arrested under questionable circumstances for the 1975 murders of two FBI agents on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. His wrongful conviction on June 26, 1975 followed a trial marked by procedural errors and a lack of evidence. Mr. Peltier has maintained his innocence since his arrest, and has been unjustly held as a political prisoner by the U.S. government for over 46 years, making him one of the world’s longest incarcerated political prisoners. He is the longest held Native American political prisoner in the world. This LA rally is being held in support of and in solidarity with Leonard Peltier's Walk To Justice, which departed on Sept. 1, 2022 from Minneapolis, Minnesota. The march will pass through multiple cities, finally ending in Washington, D.C., on Nov. 14. Learn more about Leonard Peltier here: www.whoisleonardpeltier.info/home/about-us/
