Hi Peaceniks! Remember me from the corner? It's been a long long time since I've seen you. I hope you're all doing well. I don't really know how a message board works, but I promised Brian I'd post something so I'll give this a shot.
I'm about to start packing for my trip to the Amazon and 32 mile trek on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. We'll be hiking up the 13,600 ft at the highest point. I've been reading up beforehand on the history of the Incas and their wars with the Spanish Conquistadors. Believe me both of those groups, Incas and conquistadors, make George W look like Ghandi. Both sides were totally motivated by power, gold, expansion of empire- human lives were just tools to use to further their goals ...(hmmm sounds familiar). It was very disturbing to read, actually- but fascinating. Anyway- that was 500 years ago- back to the present.... It's nice to know that every Friday, on a corner in Montrose, a group of people gather and share the belief that peace is possible. You represent the best of us! I'll post a photo when I get back from my trip. love to you all, Marian

It is good to be reminded that we have made some progress in 500 years. It's a good reason to keep at it. I'm sure your peaceful presence will add a measurable amount of good vibes to the place. Looking forward to seeing pictures.
