What are your favorite Pacifica radio shows?
Or any other favorite broadcasts/online streams you'd recommend?
(e.g. www.youtube.com/user/vicenews)
I was planning to wait until the other side of the upcoming Pacifica fund drive for this, but I was particularly impressed by this morning's 9am airing of Economic Update on FM90.7 KPFK.ORG (originally broadcast Nov. 28, 2014 by WBAI.ORG). Soon, you'll be able to stream that episode (although it may be given yet a different date) from:
www.democracyatwork.info/radio/
KPFK (90.7 FM) is usually quite enjoyable on Sunday mornings. I try listen in from 9am through the Reggae Central music show at 2pm. The shows after Economic Update are made available shortly after airing at:
archive.kpfk.org/
If you click on "All Shows", you'll be presented with a list of all the shows. Here's a partial list of shows I like (in order of airing):
World Focus - Sundays@10am (excellent theme song)
Background Briefing - Sundays@11am, M-Th@5pm
The Insighters - Sundays@Noon
Middle East in Focus - Sundays@1pm
Something's Happening B - Tu-F starting ~4am
(My all time favorite host usually starts about half way through that downloadable
stream so I skip ahead to about half way through when I download it)
Democracy Now! - M-F 6&9am (both airings are identical)
Connect the Dots - Mondays@7am (Let me know if you find a link to the great theme song she wrote for herself)
Sojourner Truth - Tu-F@7am
Uprising - M-F@8am
Letters and Politics - M-Th@10am
Ralph Nader - Sat@11am (Ralph is still great! I'm glad I voted for him!)
This list is partial. There are several shows I've never listened to, but I look forward to any recommendations.
I didn't even know about Pacifica until I came to "the corner"!
