Jeanne leads the Litany of Resistance to Violence at the 2013 Palm Sunday Peace Parade. The 13th annual Palm Sunday Peace Parade starts at 3 p.m. next Sunday, March 29, in Messiah Lutheran Church, 570 E. Orange Grove Blvd. in Pasadena, with songs and spoken inspiration. A light hearted procession commences from there on the sidewalks of Orange Grove, Los Robles and Colorado, across the freeway overpass, to the huge sidewalk fronting the Paseo Colorado mall on the boulevard for a public worship and rally, as pictured above. Learn more from the event's official webpage: www.thepeaceacademy.org/peaceparade/While you're there, scroll down for a great photo showing just Roberta and Jeanne marching in the parade several years ago.

Where do people park near the parade start? (I suppose one could take the Gold Line train, get off near Colorado and Raymond, and walk to the start at Orange Grove.)

Where do people park near the parade start? Twice in the past three years, I arrived early enough to get a spot in the church's parking lot. Once I parked on the street next to the church. There should be plenty of other places available along the parade route, which starts at the church on the south sidewalk of Orange Grove. It would be great to see you on Sunday, Ross! Roberta and Jeanne at a previous parade.

I thought the parade went very well this year. It was great to see MPV so well represented. I think it was bigger and included more groups this year.

What a glorious day to celebrate Peace, Justice, while also remembering the Ecological Crisis looming for us all.
Leading our parade, Lady Wisdom. Some familiar faces as we walked to the Paseo Mall. Adorable parade participants. Lots of singing and remembering Jesus' love for everyone. How we can share/work/act for the love of social justice.

Hey, By chance, does anyone who attended this year still have any of the flyers that were handed out? A communist group gave out an interesting one about the history of communal living and working in Europe going back as far as medieval times. I can't figure out what I did with that flyer. If someone else still has it, I'd be very grateful if I could get a xerox made. Thank you!
