Mike engineered the framework that put the Peace Train on wheels starting with the 2013 Montrose Christmas Parade. The folks of Montrose Peace Vigil and Glendale Peace Vigil, along with many other fellow travelers, will march for the sixth consecutive year in the Montrose Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 5. The parade starts at 6 p.m., but we will roll our custom built Peace Train to the staging area on Honolulu Avenue between Rosemont and La Crescenta avenues by 5 p.m. Come and join us. We've posted professional videos that included the Peace Train in previous threads on this message board, but the only clip I could find from 2014 was this one embedded below, shot by a local merchant from a different angle. I cued it up to start with us and the Peace Train: Here's the link to the Montrose Christmas Parade Association's webpage for this year's event -- Montrose/Glendale Peace Vigil is again listed as a Silver Supporter: www.montrosechristmasparade.com/2015Event.htmSome of the 32 people who marched with the Peace Train in last year's Montrose Christmas Parade.

Here's the video that the shopping park association posted on You Tube in 2012, the last time that the Peace Train rolled without wheels.

It was another great ride for the Peace Train last night. It's the warmest weather I can remember for it. The soup that Roberta made was warm and delicious and there was plenty of chocolate afterwards to fuel the train. Pastor Steve made a fine conductor. We were glad to have Barb join us. She mentioned wanting to bring live music to the train. Let's all remind her next year. Bert Newton, the organizer of the Pasadena Palm Sunday Peace Parade came with a friend. He said that the theme of that parade this year will be welcoming refuges. Roberta's friend Dora was there with her granddaughter who waited and walked without a trace of whining - a shining light of hope for our future.
The people watching seemed to be happy to be reminded of peace. There were a few 6-8 year old boys chanting USA when we went by. I don't remember that from previous years.
i hope that Sharon is feeling better soon.
See you Friday.

Despite the announcement on the parade website it wasn't broadcast on the GUSD charter cable channel so we'll have to watch it later when it becomes available. Thanks to all who marched for peace. I am feeling better and hope to see you at the corner soon.

The parade video is now on the city's website:
The Peace Train is about 1 hour and 13 minutes in.
