This is going on at church tomorrow: Rev. Inman Moore, civil rights leader will be preaching tomorrow. Come listen as he helps us remember Martin Luther King Jr. and asks us, "America - Wither Bound?" Rev. Moore's recently published book "On The Road to Civil Rights" describes his role in speaking up and organizing fro racial equality in his native state of Mississippi in the 1950's and 60's. He will be present for a discussion of his book and experiences after worship. This is a rich opportunity to meet with an activist with a long history of courage, integrity, and love. "He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?" Micah 6:8 Worship at 10 AM, 2700 Montrose Avenue, Montrose Inman was one of 28 Methodist pastors in Mississippi who signed a letter decrying the injustice of discrimination and segregation and the church's hypocrisy on the matter. He was forced to leave the state and was welcomed by the Bishop of our Conference to lead a church in Palmdale. He has been a steady and clear voice for peace and justice since the 1950's. I think he's a living treasure and y'all are welcome to come hear him speak and meet with him afterwards for a discussion.
