The teaser trailer for the documentary, "An Act of Love."Jeanne sent out this e-mail Saturday announcing this event at the church: Dear family and friends,
Great news! Crescenta Valley United Methodist Church is hosting a special one-time screening of the new film An Act of Love on Friday, February 19th at 7pm at CVUMC, 2700 Montrose Ave, and I would love for you and your friends to come!
This compelling documentary follows Rev. Frank Schaefer as he was put on trial in the United Methodist Church for officiating his son’s same-sex wedding. The Schaefer family was pulled into a movement for LGBTQ equality in the nation’s second largest protestant denomination. An Act of Love follows Rev. Schaefer’s journey from small-town minister to outspoken advocate, as well as the ongoing debate in the United Methodist Church over LGBTQ inclusion.
Here’s the website for the film: www.anactoflovefilm.com/
I’d love to see you in the audience, and I’d really appreciate your help spreading the word. Please tell your friends and have them join us for this special one-time screening of An Act of Love !
Thanks for all your support!

The homepage of the Crescenta Valley United Methodist Church website has more information right on top about the screening of "An Act of Love" and the church's partnership with Reconciling Ministries Network: cvumc.org/CVUMC might be the best place locally to watch a movie, with two big dual screens and good sound. Pastor Steve and the members of his church make the community room downstairs a welcoming place to gather afterwards. I'm not a member or even a Christian, but I am always glad to be there. I look forward to February 19.
