Sounds like fun. Are you thinking of doing it at the corner?

Maybe at the corner or in a local park - depends on the time of day and how many are interested. Peace songs in Dunsmore Park? Drum Circle in Duekmejian? Somebody needs to film it too to put on the website. Who else wants to participate?

The 25th is a Saturday, which means that Anni and I can be there, wherever, in the late afternoon/evening. Anni already has plans in the mid-afternoon.
I think that the corner would be ideal after sunset -- given the crowds we've seen there on Fridays at 9 after we eat dinner at Portobello's. That is, assuming that no other music is being performed there!

So far, Bill, Sharon, Nancy, Brian and I will gather on the northwest corner of Ocean View Boulevard and Honolulu Avenue -- where we meet for Montrose Peace Vigil on Fridays -- for music on Saturday, August 25, starting at 7 p.m. Bill and Nancy are bringing their acoustic guitars. Bruce, who also plays, may come too.
Besides the music, we are going to enjoy the cooler temperatures and greater crowds on the sidewalks of Montrose after dark. Hope to see you there!

My thoughts Here's an acoustic Imagine,
Who would do the lead vocals on this:
Lots of options here:
And of course,
These are probably too much for the corner
Too elaborate for the first year, I think,

Bill is practicing Imagine on his acoustic guitar. I hope other musicians and singers are getting inspired! I'm ready to hand out the business card Christmas Parade invitations to the appreciative crowd that's sure to gather!

and me, probably! Also, don’t know why this didn’t show up as a new post, so copying it here! Update on Trumparade, now postponed. Let’s wait and see what the organizing group (Win Without War?) of the Armistice Day peace and counter-parade events say about events like the one I signed MPV for, and then discuss/decide among us re what we should do on 11/11. www.nytimes.com/2018/08/16/us/politics/trump-military-parade-costs.html?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&clickSource=story-heading&module=first-column-region®ion=top-news&WT.nav=top-news———— Well said, and we will be making a stand for peace here with the Montrose Armistice Day. If this Trumparade happens I will need to be with the like-minded. And if we stop it, what a happy event it would be! A few months ago I must have signed a petition that got me onto VoteVets' e-mail list -- and I'm glad. I've long admired the PAC, which was started by Iraq war veterans who opposed the war in Iraq. And their e-mails are brief and beautifully written, like this one from Will Fischer: I want to tell you something that is somewhat hard to believe. And that is, when we talk to members of Congress, some of them don’t understand just how pissed off people are about Trump’s ridiculous military parade. It’s not just that this parade would be an international disgrace. It’s not just about making women and men who signed up to sacrifice everything march down the streets of our nation’s capital to salute a chickenhawk. It’s about a president who has continually shown himself to have authoritarian tendencies. Here's the link to the VoteVets petition to Congress saying that you oppose the military parade in Washington and want them to prevent it: action.votevets.org/page/s/military_parade?source=em180603-full Read more: montrosepeacevigil.proboards.com/posts/recent#ixzz5IcCoj5IOquote author=" anni" source="/post/7035/thread" timestamp="1534344575"] So far, Bill, Sharon, Nancy, Brian and I will gather on the northwest corner of Ocean View Boulevard and Honolulu Avenue -- where we meet for Montrose Peace Vigil on Fridays -- for music on Saturday, August 25, starting at 7 p.m. Bill and Nancy are bringing their acoustic guitars. Today's update is that the parade is canceled. That gives me a little glimmer of hope for sanity in the nation.
Music on the porch is another good thing. I'll have Simon with me, so I won't bring my guitar. I'll hang out and sing with you all for a while. I'll thing of a song to prepare. I invited Barb, too.
I've had internet challenges. I'm using my phone as a hotspot so I can log on with my computer.

Nancy and Bruce can't make it so it's just Bill on guitar now - hope Barb can come too. Bill and Brian practiced some of Give Peace A Chance last night.
