The current Glendale News-Press online poll is about Glendale installing smart meters to help utility users monitor electricity and water usage. The people who think it costs too much to be 'green' are winning. See: www.glendalenewspress.com/ The poll is on the right, you may have to scroll down a bit. Thanks! Sharon W

I voted after I read the article. It seems an updated system with so much more accurate monitoring and "flow management" is exactly what we need. Nothing has been modernized for 80 years? YIKES I voted butttttt.....the total for the greener way still sez "29"

When I voted yesterday I think that the pro-greens were ahead, this is a negative surprise. We must spread the word to vote at the corner tonight.

Vanguard Glendale, Barry Allen's online rag, is promoting the "it costs too much" answer. He and his group of pals, Mike Mohill, Herbert Molano, Christian Arbed, etc. are frequent city council speakers, almost always against public employee unions, spending taxes on open space or public improvements or any progressive issues. We call them the BACONS, Barry Allen's cabal of naysayers.
This is also a bit of a test. I spread word of the VHGC poll and it got over 500 responses, the most yet, the huge majority of which wanted to save the golf course. This poll I've not circulated to the homeowners groups - only the Green party yahoo groups and peace vigil folks. Sadly, it looks like the land use folks are more active than environmentalists. I didn't publicize the 'how best to honor a fallen soldier/marine' at all - I wonder if the 'contras' noticed that one?
