I imagine some have already seen this. but in case anyone hasn't. It's a petition against invading Iraq, oops, I mean Venezuela.
It sounds like Greg Palast doesn't think we'll invade (I'm not convinced, though I wish I was).

Thanks for posting this. I needed a good quick study on the situation in Venezuela.

David Cicilline (D-RI) tweeted yesterday: “I introduced H.R.1004 to prevent American military action in Venezuela. Congress should pass this bill before we rush into another unnecessary war.”
As far as I know, the only presidential candidate who's made a strong statement against intervention in Venezuela is Tulsi Gabbard.
Although I'm guessing Mike Gravel has, too.

I may not be the only person here to get this petition from International Action Center, but in case anyone has missed it:
Protectors Remain Determined After Electricity & Water Cut to Venezuelan Embassy - Sign, Call & Mobilize! More than 1100 people have signed their commitment to make calls and mobilize to defend the Venezuelan Embassy in Washington, D.C. and the group of activists who have been protecting the Embassy for one month, as of May 10. Now, the Secret Service, other police and U.S. government agencies, along with the right-wing coup supporters outside the Embassy, have not only blocked food, medicines, and other supplies, but they have now cut the power and water to the Embassy - just as the U.S. did in Venezuela. TAKE ACTION: Daily demonstrations will take place outside the Embassy each day from 4 - 7pm. There is also a call for a mass mobilization this Saturday, May 11, at 1pm. 1.Sign + share the petition 2.Make the calls a.DC Mayor Muriel Bowser: 202-727-2643 b.State Dept Office of Foreign Missions: 202-895-3500 c.Secret Service DC Field Office: 202-406-8800 SIGN your support for the Venezuelan Embassy Protectors, deliver their message to US State Department Offices and US Embassies world wide. We will also deliver all signed statements to US State Department.
Here's a discussion about the situation at the Venezuelan embassy in DC (with a reporter still inside it):

By the way, I have yet to receive one e-mail about Iran from any peace organization. Did you get one? Post a link!
This isn't to any politician, but it's telling the New York Times to report more accurately re: the situation with Iran.

I got Code Pink’s email on Iran — I’m sure it is a top action on CP homepage — and called Schiff re H.R.2354 as Code Pink urged.I think the NYT one which I also did was from Just Foreign Policy? Sorry, I trash/delete after taking action! By the way, I have yet to receive one e-mail about Iran from any peace organization. Did you get one? Post a link!
