I was driving around on the freeway, and saw a white bus with the words "John Lennon Educational".
I found:

white bus, but it didn't look like this on the freeway (I think)

Wow! You saw this bus?!! I heard about this years ago but hadn't heard anything since. I'm so glad this bus is still rolling around and I love all the links, information, videos. With all the linking in, logging on, subscribing, watching, listening, reading, I may never get out of my robe this morning.

With all the linking in, logging on, subscribing, watching, listening, reading, I may never get out of my robe this morning. The Lennon bus will be at the NAMM show in Anaheim, Jan. 25-28 2024. Apparently it will be in front of the Hilton Hotel.
NAMM is a trade-only business show catering to domestic and international dealers and distributors. Attendance is restricted to owners, suppliers, journalists, employees, endorsed artists, and guests of NAMM member companies.
If you ask for a free pass at a music instrument dealer, you may be able to get in. I have a friend who said she can get me a pass. I may be able to get more passes, leave your name/email with Brian, and I will see if this is possible.

I apologize for - in all probability - mangling your name, [beatles]. I probably didn't catch it with all the noise inside and outside my head at the vigil tonight and I really am sorry. Thank you so much for the info. and your efforts to get me a pass to the NAMM Show. I looked at these links and I'm so excited. I so hope I can get a pass! I can't thank you enough!

I'll be seeing the Lennon bus in two weeks at NAMM. Hall A, Booth 10739 - Here I come!!! (If you don't see me at the vigil on the 28th, I couldn't find my car.) Thank you so very much Anonymous Beatle guest and Brian for all you did for this techno-no-go pain in the butt so I could find the links and register. I need to head out to the printing place to get my QR code I think you call it (allergic to cell phones), directions, etc. I'm so grateful for the wonderful people who show up every week no matter what just to ask for peace. Big clue that you're the greatest and you keep on proving it - year after year - thank you again and again.

The John Lennon Bus was such a shot of hope and happiness for me. (There's a European one that tours out of Liverpool too.) The artistry of the bus is Lenonoesque incredible outside and in - with "imagine" eye level on the buses' studio/mixing board (I guess you call it), "imagine peace" on the screen saver on the front corner of the booth behind the center aisle/mixing board, Yoko's "wish tree" piece on an easel on the back corner of the booth before the entrance to the sleeping compartment/sound proofable studio section at the very back of the bus, and the lighted drawing of Lennon projected onto a round table right in the center of the booth. Dolby - and, I guess, other corporations - fund and provide PR for Lennon's legacy of social justice and peace activism while touring the country - going to schools - this year mostly black students, underfunded schools - and teaching students and educators, providing resources (including the Lennon Bus staff's availability, and online videos/Zoom sessions, and so on) for students (mostly high school) to become employed in all aspects of the music industry. Students - at all levels - write, perform, produce (state-of-the art), and create a song/video during each school visit. Big name performers also produce and perform out of the Lennon bus. The Lennon Bus staff don't tell students what to write songs about. The student productions they showed us were just great. I think the main thrust is to pave the way for imagination and creativity - in some very concrete, mainstream (Dolby and LAUSD, for example) ways - out of which peace tends to unfurl. The bus runs on lowest-carbon lithium batteries and solar panels are installed on top. The whole thing is a beautiful, classy, and brilliant Trojan Horse for peace. The staff asked me about myself - name tag - "educator" - "Montrose Peace Vigil." I said that several of the vigil members are performance artists - and we have a journalist who gave me the NAMM ticket - and asked me to report back to them so here you go. I'm so grateful for this opportunity and for the opportunity to meet with you every week. Thank you. |
