Check Google today, www.google.com/ for a nice tribute to John Lennon for his birthday - I thought of Nancy the instant I saw it.

How beautiful to wake up on John Lennon's 70th birthday to Sharon's and Roberta's posts in this thread. Nancy won't be online until Monday, so in case she missed it: Google's homepage logo incorporated John's famous self-portrait alongside a You Tube connection. When you clicked on it, up popped a little animated video using the last 32 seconds of "Imagine." A touching, thoughtful tribute. I've been enjoying all of the birthday buzz, including the reviews and videos of Yoko's two shows at the Orpheum downtown last weekend. Since I never bought any of John's original solo albums on CD -- I still play my old records -- I'm very eager to drop $190 for her remastered box set that came out this week: Meanwhile, I'm remembering John while playing "The John Lennon Anthology." Yoko was the reason I finally bought a CD player in 1998. She put out that gorgeous four-CD box set of rarities, outtakes and demos by John, from the break up of the Beatles until the days before his death, but nothing on cassette.
