The second sentence of Article 3 of the United States Constitution states: " The Judges, both of the supreme and inferior Courts, shall hold their Offices during good Behaviour,..." See constitution.congress.gov/constitution/article-3/ I'm surprised that so many judges decide to preside over cases with connections to friends, family or themselves (e.g. Justice Thomas's wife assisting insurrection). The appearance of corruption is even more blatant in cases involving the person who appointed the judge as in a couple of Judge Aileen Cannon's first decisions as a judge. Recusal should have been a no-brainer, yet she went ahead and punctuated the end of her 'good Behaviour' by dismissing her "caught red handed" espionage case. IMHO, She should be removed from the bench immediately, but the harm (in the form of delay) has already been inflicted.
