I'm going to guess there is a grand total of 167 bowls.

Okay, the deadline has passed for this week's contest. One of you guessers will be able to get your mug at the Mend In tonight.

Results are in. 136 finished bowls. Anni is this week's winner. the number should climb rapidly in the next two weeks as many bowls are in the queue to be fired.

Seeing Anni at home Sunday afternoon was proof that the 2011 Running of the Bowls was over. As Jeanne mentioned, many bowls were fired in the past two weeks, but these were the numbers of completed bowls on these dates -- alongside the winners of her handmade mugs for coming the closest in their guesses: - Roberta, 68, Aug. 25
- Brian, 102, Sept. 8
- Anni, 136, Sept. 22
Now, little more than a month remains until the fourth Empty Bowls fundraiser at Crescenta Valley United Methodist Church. You'll find details on the official website: www.cvemptybowls.org/events.html

Thank you, Jeanne, for having another contest -- and for the mug you gave me for guessing the closest in the second one. It's so big yet so lightweight that I made it my everyday mug. And it's so unique that I've been very careful using and washing it. What will the next handmade mug look like? The best way to find out is to win it. I hope everybody who reads this by Thursday, Oct. 6, posts a guess by midnight!
