Roberta and Anni indeed wore hoodies, as did Jeanne. Anni lent Jim one of mine that I had forgotten about deep in my closet. This Friday's Montrose Peace Vigil included three first timers: Roberta's friend Kendra, who held a sign, and Mary Jo and Jeannie, brought to the corner by Linda. This month's attendance: - Mar. 2 - 13
- Mar. 9 - 14
- Mar. 16 - 10
- Mar. 23 - 11
- Mar. 30 - 13
The weekly average for March was 12 participants, rounded to the nearest whole peacenik. That compares to 11 in February, 9 in January and 11 in March 2011. I must remark upon the unusual absence of the counter protesters -- in good weather! -- because two people came up to me to talk about it, and I was only on the corner for the last 45 minutes of the vigil. We continue to fly the American flag on Mike's portable flagpole, and we posted these two pages from our government, announcing six military deaths in the past week: Attachments:

We wore our hoodies to the Glendale Peace Vigil last night. Attendance has been sparce - down to only 2 on one night a few weeks ago - glad to hear you're attracting new people. There were at at least 10 of us there last night - better weather, I guess.

The Glendale Peace Vigil was totally out in front of many, being there since, when, 2001 sometime? I know you started well before the invasion of Iraq, during the disgusting, sabre-rattling, run-up before the war. And you are still there -- congratulations and thank you!

Thanks for the kind words - Nancy and Julianne started the Glendale Peace Vigil in 2002 trying to stop the invasion of Iraq. They started in front of the Glendale Armory but moved to Broadway and Brand shortly thereafter because there's so much more foot traffic. Nancy has been demonstrating for peace almost every Friday since then. Julianne has had some health problems (she's 80 something) but was back last week. We started attending in 2005. We're happy to have another choice when we can't quite make it down the hill. Thanks for being there!
