Anni had a great time with some old friends at the new location for the Running of the Bowls in Sierra Madre last Saturday. She'll bring her camera to the next gathering on Sunday, June 24, and post a photo here. Of course, you will be able to choose among the ceramic bowls they're making at the fifth annual Crescenta Valley Empty Bowls fundraiser at Crescenta Valley United Methodist Church in Montrose. The date has been set: Saturday, November 10. In the meantime, keep up by visiting the charity's Facebook Wall: www.facebook.com/cvemptybowls?v=wall

The fourth of only ten bowl making sessions this year is next Sunday, July 8, from 2 to 6 p.m., at the Creative Arts Group, 108 N. Baldwin Ave. in Sierra Madre. The nonprofit arts center is hosting the new meeting place of the Crescenta Valley Empty Bowls volunteers, who had their Running of the Bowls workshops at the Community Center of La Canada Flintridge for the past four years. The excellent Crescenta Valley Empty Bowls website, recently updated, has news from now to November: www.cvemptybowls.org/

Yesterday's Bowl run was fantastic...with loads of wonderful folks of all ages and experiences (with clay). Among those we know from the corner: Our Lead Bowler, Jeanne; long time vigilars and board members, Jenny and Edmond; excellent and fun bowler, Forrest; and brand newish vigil/board member, Mary Ann! Next time, I promise I'll get some snapshots to share! You all should try it...

And Nancy stopped by later to cheer us on, too. I love it when people meet each other working together for a good cause.

Next Sunday is your last chance to build/throw some bowls (for this year's Empty Bowls). Here's a couple I did this last Sunday: ...and I'm doing a couple more next Sunday, August 26 from 2-6 pm.
