I'm posting the note I got from Jeanne a week ago...
HI Friends,
Bowl season has arrived. We will have 8 Sunday workshops from 4-8 PM at Creative Arts Group , 108 North Baldwin, Sierra Madre. The ceramics studio is down the driveway and to the right.
The Sundays are: 6/30, 7/7, 7/14, 7/21, 8/4, 8/11, 8/18, 8/25.
We request a $5 donation to help CAG cover firing and materials costs.
The workshops are open to all. Feel free to invite others. Seasoned potters guide beginners. Everyone has a good time. Friendships are formed along with the bowls. $$$ raised for hungry people. I hope you will join us.
The event will be on October 5th this year.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Peace, Jeanne
Keep checking this thread for updates, too.

Greetings from Redlands. i hope the corner was lively in a peaceful way tonight. I spoke up for peace today when I was in a legislative group that was considering a resolution against drones. Believe it or not, there are some folks here who buy that line about drones saving lives. We will vote on it tomorrow. I expect some lively discussion.
Thanks for the bowl plug. Two weeks!

A photo from last year, the first Running of the Bowls in Sierra Madre instead of La Canada. The fourth of only eight bowl making sessions for this year happens next Sunday, July 21, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Creative Arts Group, 108 N. Baldwin Ave. in Sierra Madre. The Crescenta Valley Empty Bowls volunteers will take the next week off before returning for all four Sundays in August. Come October 5, you will be able to see all of the ceramic bowls they're making at the sixth annual Crescenta Valley Empty Bowls fundraiser at Crescenta Valley United Methodist Church in Montrose. Then you can choose one of them to feed yourself -- while helping to feed many others.

Thanks for that photo, Brian. I grabbed it and sent it to the Godmother and mother of the subjects.
Our workshop went well. We made 31 bowls and glazed at least that many.
We won't be meeting next week because I'll be away. But we'll be back in business on August 4th.

Only three workshops remain -- Sunday, August 11, 18 and 25, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Creative Arts Group, 108 N. Baldwin in Sierra Madre -- for making the bowls to be offered at this year's Crescenta Valley Empty Bowls event in October. Anni tells me how fun and fulfilling they've been so far, no spin necessary. After five years, the Crescenta Valley Empty Bowls website is gone. But the workshops have been advertised on the Facebook page of the Crescenta Valley United Methodist Church. And I see that the first post for the 2013 fundraiser has hit the Crescenta Valley Empty Bowl's Facebook wall: www.facebook.com/cvemptybowls?v=wall
