This is so cool...I have been accepted to have two abstract paintings in the McGroarty Arts Festival, March 10th-23rd. I'll post more info as it's shared. For now this is what I've got: www.mcgroartyartscenter.org/events-a-exhibitions.htmlThis one is my favorite, you might recognize it from my avatar, it's called 'The Morning Walk, Left' This one I've forgotten the title:

Exciting and great taste on their part. Thank you Anni for sharing your art with MPV. Roberta, Sharon and Jeanne speak for how proud I feel. The dates that Anni gave -- March 10-23 -- cover the entire first annual Arts at Play Exploring Abstraction festival. The Art Exhibition is just one of the events. I dug into the McGroarty Arts Center website and found the December newsletter, which says that the Art Exhibition opens at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 13. Anni's paintings will be on display until March 22. I also read that the artists can offer their works for sale. Does that mean that I'll be filling out a Schedule C for 2014?

McGroarty Cultural Arts Center has published the schedule booklet for its Arts at Play Exploring Abstraction festival next month. You can download the PDF from the center's webpage: www.mcgroartyartscenter.org/events-a-exhibitions.htmlLots of interesting events, but I'm focused on the Exhibition of Abstract Art first, especially the Private Donor Reception on Thursday, March 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. For $50 a ticket, we can meet some of the exhibiting artists, get a presentation by curator Danielle Eubank and hear live jazz by local musicians. The Honorary Master of Ceremonies is our Los Angeles City Councilman Felipe Fuentes. We'll post further information and links here when they're available.

Tomorrow night is the big "donor's opening" of the Abstract Art Exhibit...it costs $50 per couple...even if you're alone. Brian and I will be there and Roberta's coming, too. That's Thursday, March 13th, from 5:00 to 7:00, at McGroarty Arts Center. Also included; a talk by curator Danielle Eubank and music by 'Jazz Combo'. Council member Felipe Fuentes will be the Master of Ceremonies. If you can't make it Thursday, maybe you can make it Friday from 4:30 to 7:00 when it's all open to the public, for free! I'll be there but will leave early so I can drop by the Peace Vigil. Then on to the movie "America's Drone Wars" at Jeanne's Church at 7:30. The gallery will be open from 10:00 to 6:00, March 15th through March 22nd, you can stop in and check out the art on your own.
