I had never heard of Patty Lopez when she beat Raul Bocanegra for the 39th Assembly district last November. I liked the notion that grass roots campaigning door-to-door had won over the party favorite with the huge campaign fund. However, her representative at the HSR meeting Jan. 13 wasn't a good speaker and didn't make much sense. There has been some speculation Republicans voted her in since the two top vote getters in the primary were Democrats and they voted against the incumbent. Now this article shows up: citywatchla.com/lead-stories-hidden/8299-when-recall-becomes-necessaryThere's a Town Hall meeting Saturday, Jan. 31 at North Valley City Hall, 7747 Foothill Blvd. where she'll be keynote speaker if anybody wants to check her out in person. Maybe with a fluent Spanish speaker for complete coverage. The Town Hall is from 11 am to 12:30 pm - doors open at 10 am. Refreshments provided. Topics to be discussed: the Canyon Parks Homes Development, High Speed Rail, and the project at 10046 Samoa Ave.

Wow, Sharon...my mom always said, "Great minds run in the same gutter." Meaning that as the greatest compliment.
On Tuesday, LA Progressive put up an article by the same writer saying that it's not too soon to consider recalling Patty Lopez:www.laprogressive.com/recall-patty-lopez/While we were reading this last night Brian was saying how he couldn't wait for Sharon and Bill to read this article...they'll go nuts! It's the same article different pictures...as far as I can tell.
