Here's a presentation of a very interesting case that Dwight Eisenhour was our last legitimate Republican President. The approximately 24 minute video has been broken into 3 parts, but youtube doesn't always automatically link the 3 parts together in order. So here are the links to each: Part 1: Part 2: Part 3: I particularly like the audio clip from President Johnson in the Part 1 (only released a few years ago), but for a little humor, here's my favorite Johnson clip as it appeared on Rachel Maddow's show:

Another great rant by Thom Hartmann. I didn't learn anything from this one -- and I would have added George H.W. Bush's role in Iran-Contra and his pardons as he left office -- but I was glad to hear it. Wish I had time to hear his show during the day.
You don't have to go back to Eisenhower and his spring 1953 peace speech to see how much the entire Republican party and many Democrats have deviated from his message. Lincoln Chafee was elected as a Republican to the Senate in 2000. He hasn't changed his views since. Today, he is the best peace candidate running for President in 2016 -- as a Democrat.
