The recent 10 year anniversary of the movie Ideocracy

made me realize that the evolutionary forces described in that movie's excellent opening scene

    

are so strong that the movie did not really need to be placed 500 years into the future.

    

An actual (former?) owner of a World Wrestling Foundation (aka All-Star-Wrestling) team could take over the world next year!
In the movie, a wrestler was in charge of the world, but it's still a scary-close parallel.

Thanks for posting this. Didn't filmmaker Mike Judge say earlier this year that Idiocracy has already come true (based on Trump running in the primary--and this was before penis size entered the national discourse)? I wish I'd known about the screening of the movie here in L.A. sooner. I might've gone.

I haven't seen Being There since the early '80s, but it's been on my mind in recent years because people are so tuned out of reality and tuned into their hand-held gadgets.

Whether or not Trump wins, the fact that he's gotten this far has pretty disturbing implications, in my opinion.
