Good morning everyone. Are you as ecstatic as I am about the Nobel prize for literature? I have more thoughts about it than time to share them. I will share one of my favorite verses from Chimes Of Freedom because it reminds me o MPV's dedication:
"Flashing for the warriors whose strength is not to fight, Flashing for the refugees on their unarmed road of flight And for each and every underdog soldier in the night As we gazed upon the chimes of freedom flashing."
Thanks to you all for your strength and courage.

copying my FB post here for those not on it.
I love a lot of Dylan's lyrics but this is my favorite, albeit sung by another of my favorites,
It's sad it needs a new verse for Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and now Yemen.

Wow, thanks, Sharon.
In 1993, Aaron Neville had a big hit with "Don't Fall Apart on Me Tonight," a song from Bob Dylan's wonderful 1983 album "Infidels," which was anchored by Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare on drums and bass. Both Dylan's and Neville's versions feature Mark Knopfler on lead guitar:
Don't fall apart on me tonight I just don't think that I could handle it Don't fall apart on me tonight Yesterday's gone but the past lives on Tomorrow's just one step beyond And I need you, yeah

Leonard Cohen's response to Dylan's Nobel Prize - Giving Dylan the Nobel Prize for Literature is like putting a plaque on Mt. Everest for being the tallest mountain.

Last week KPFK played a 54-year-old interview with him. It was done at WBAI, the Pacifica station in NYC when he was only 20. It's not in KPFK's archives, but you can hear it here (click on the YouTube video): www.pacificaradioarchives.org/
