The Nuclear Age Peace Foundation is offering a customizable letter to your Assembly member and State Senator asking them to support Assembly Joint Resolution 30, which urges the United States Congress to speedily take up and pass the Restricting First Use of Nuclear Weapons Act of 2017. In the link below, I typed my street address and ZIP Code. The software gave me Senator Anthony Portantino and no Assembly member, which is currently true. Senators Bernie Sanders and Mike Lee have introduced a resolution invoking the War Powers Resolution of 1973 to end the three-year U.S. military involvement in Saudi Arabia's war in Yemen. Brian got five e-mails on Thursday, all linking to the same petition sponsored by 21 peace organizations:

I spent eight years under George W. Bush in a state of rage. When Trump was elected, I knew I'd have to stay cool if I wanted to survive, given my advanced age. I had largely succeeded until Tuesday, when he nominated Gina Haspel to head the Central Intelligence Agency.
The National Religious Campaign Against Torture immediately started a petition to the U.S. Senate saying, "It is a moral outrage for someone who headed a CIA torture site and destroyed videotaped evidence of torture to become CIA Director."
