We had a fantastic time hanging out at the Glendale Peace Vigil's booth at the Cruise Night festival centered on Brand Boulevard Saturday night. Every spinner was a winner, and everybody of all ages who I dealt with really seemed to enjoy their gifts. And they were great -- a beautiful variety of t-shirts, books, DVD's, tote bags, buttons, bumper stickers, bookmarks, balloons and GPV-imprinted pencils, almost everything communicating a progressive theme or message.
No money changed hands. Anybody tall enough to spin the prize wheel had the chance, for instance, to take home a child-size t-shirt displaying a peace symbol, very popular. Young mothers chose the stickers with the entire First Amendment for their kids. The wonderful folks of the Glendale Peace Vigil took care to fully stock their booth -- and they generated a lot of goodwill for peace in the community.
