The blue prius is on the mend, still missing a couple of components, but freshly painted. It was sitting out front at Gene's bodyshop on the corner of Honolulu/Rosemont this morning as we walked up to Montrose for breakfast so I reached in and plucked out my emergency sweater -- I had set off in the early chill ill-clothed, esp. for a lady for a head cold. Miserable, but not serious, and I'll be fine for mending by Friday, no worries.
Nancy asked what I will bring for mending and I didn't have a ready answer, but there is always something around here. And I'll bring lots of glue, in various configurations -- my second career as a peace sign caretaker has me well supplied!

Does anyone have a seam remover cutter thing I could borrow Friday?

"Mend an object. As you mend, you mend something inside your soul as well. You mend something in the world as well." Yoko Ono Montrose Peace Vigil Participants will host an Equinox War is Over Mending Circle Friday. 9/23, 5:30-7:00pm, at the corner of Honolulu & Ocean View, Montrose, CA. Join us as we mend to demonstrate: War is Over If You Mend War is SEW Over Read more: montrosepeacevigil.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=talk&action=display&thread=198&page=1#ixzz1YPrWLYq2I Posted this on Yoko's Facebook Wall & Mine. I can't find where I can post on her website: Imagine Peace. Brian, anyone, if you know or can cut & paste for me, let me know or "just do it" (cut/paste). Thanks in advance. The above post had the limit of "characters" that Facebook would allow. (Thank goodness our vigil doesn't have this type of limit. I would be SEW out of there.) Love, Nancy

Does anyone have a seam remover cutter thing I could borrow Friday? A seam "ripper" perhaps it is called. I seem to have an amazing number of sewing doodads for a person who rarely sews, but not that one. If no one else comes up with one, I'll do a JoAnn's run.

If someone thinks that love and peace is a cliche that must have been left behind in the Sixties, that's his problem. Love and peace are eternal. John Lennon

I tried to post the mending circle announcement on Yoko's Imagine Peace Website but I don't know if I succeeded because I had to turn the computer off while my "comment" in the WAR is Over section was being "moderated". I'll check later today. I l already posted successfully on her Facebook Community page. I've got some coats with linings that need to be SOOO SEWN & a ceramic piece to glue. Can't wait.

Thank you, Nancy! Off the board, I've also heard of more items to be repaired by Jeanne, Roberta and Anni for the first War Is Over Mending Circle. I hope to get to the corner earlier than usual, work and traffic allowing. A full report and photos on the message board will follow. I laid out pages on Word identifying Montrose Peace Vigil and the Mending Circle and offering the quotations by Yoko, Nancy and Anni from this thread for inspiration. Anni improved them, and she'll fix them artfully to her big new signboard that we'll place in front of Roberta's table. See you tonight!
