Thanks for the documentation, Brian. I heard somewhere that if it's not on the message board, it hasn't happened.
It was a good thing to do. I received inspiration from our Read and Practice Peacemaking Group where Paige first debuted Lydia and Michael was a mean Mark Twain. Thanks to Roberta and Brian for sustaining interest and action when mine sometimes flagged.
Looking forward, we are ready and able to present again at the drop of a hat (or a lace cap) whenever an opportunity arises. And there is always room to add to the cast. Lately, I have been thinking of our process and pace as something similar to erosion. Slow and steady makes the peace.

Sharon and Bill! OMG! What beautiful pictures! The colors are so vivid. Every shot tells a festival story. Bill, you and your good eye really bring the stories to life! What a fine team, Sharon and Bill! And what a good job!!!

Lydia Maria Child (as portrayed by Paige) has moved from the corner to the pulpit. Lydia did a powerful bit of preaching on justice and hope last Sunday. To hear it, go to www.cvumc.org, click on Worship, then on recent messages. It sounds good, even without the excellent visual the costume provided.

To hear it, go to www.cvumc.org [and] click on Worship, then on recent messages. It sounds good, even without the excellent visual the costume provided. Thank you, Jeanne, for posting the link to Paige's sermon. She told me at the pacifist Halloween event (in my photo above) that she was going to wear Lydia Maria Child's dress at least one more time a month later and I had forgotten about it. This link will take you right to that page on the church website: www.cvumc.org/cgi-bin/gx.cgi/applogic+ftcontentserver?pagename=faithhighway/10000/6000/591CR/scmedia&type=mediaplayer&loc=www.cvumc.org/media/media/mediaplayer.php&id=20091201021243B398CBI'm glad I was able to hear Paige in character as Lydia, both revolutionary and inspirational, deliver these words in an Advent speech about the quest for peace and justice: "How many years shall we wait? All of them, of course." In case you missed them last month, here are Bill W's excellent photos of the scene on Halloween: www.jetcafe.org/~billw/Montrose%20Peace%20Vigil%20-%20Oct%2031,%202009/

I love that we have taken peace both mainstream and into the street in our own artful way!
Back at the beginning of our vigil Louisa and I made a beautiful flyer:
"Peace on Earth Begins with Us.
Support our troops - bring them home now!"
with dove and cute kids choir. For several years either she or Bruce have helped me post them in Montrose where thousands of people will gather for the parade tomorrow. Anyone up for helping me this year? It takes just an hour or so, we should do it late afternoon on Saturday (tomorrow), like 3ish. Surprisingly, only a few have been taken down over the years -- I go up right after the parade and take them down. I'm still recycling the original set!
I'll bring this up in person at the corner tonight.
