The next savethegolfcourse.org fundraiser is this Thursday, July 15, at Dominick's Italian Restaurant, 2948 Foothill Blvd. in La Crescenta. If you haven't been there in awhile, check out the Russo family's fancy website to see what the next generation is cooking along with the traditional favorites since 1969: www.dominicks-italian.com/Perhaps the world's only miniature golf course attached to a Mongolian grill is right here in Tujunga, I'll bet. And Glendale-Crescenta VOICE will have another fundraiser at Golf n' Grill on Sunday, July 25: golfgrill.com/

Hi, Brian, thank you for the kudos! That means a lot as this is strictly a non-professional effort but it has a lot of heart! And its rather single-minded as well! Speaking of which, our newest mass eBlast from VOICE and the Save the Golf Course folks has been posted: Verdugo Hills Golf Course: Dominick's & Miniature Golf = $$$! www.gcvoice.org/emails/2010Jul13.htmThank you for your support, Brian!

Just uploaded the July 22 eBlast entitled 'Golf Courses & Audubon International?'www.gcvoice.org/emails/2010Jul22.htmThis Sunday, July 25th, is the Golf n' Grill fundraiser for the golf course. Whether you plan miniature golf or enjoy some Mongolian BBQ, you'll help raise money for the battle to save the VHGC. The July 22nd eBlast includes all the nitty-gritty about this local fundraiser.

We're grateful that KarenZ keeps the Montrose Peace Vigil message board up to date so beautifully! Anni and I were out of town for the Golf n' Grill fundraiser on Sunday -- did Roberta wind up going? -- but we ordered take out from Dominick's two weeks ago and might have found our new favorite local Italian restaurant. We hope both savethegolfcourse.org events were wildly successful. The Bandito Art Park was kind of a miracle -- I was almost as amazed that any property owner would allow it to develop for so many months as I was delighted by the Bandito's stamina and his ever changing additions and flourishes, mostly keyed to holidays. The rock sculptures were still intact the last time I drove by. In case you missed this You Tube video I posted last March -- or just want one last look:

It's been almost exactly one year since the public comment period ended and the developer's Final Environmental Impact Report still has not been issued. Meanwhile, the latest eBlast reports that the golf course has hired a new manager, along with lots of other good news: www.gcvoice.org/emails/2010Aug8.htm

The efforts to improve the golf course operation are to be commended. The selection of John Mascarenas as the new manager was a good decision. As Brian points out, however, we are still waiting for the Final EIR. Nothing has changed in that respect. It's been a year. We had expected it would be ready earlier this year but it has not yet materialized. And we will study the FEIR as carefully as we did the Draft EIR. In the meantime we're continuing to raise money for the defense of the VHGC. Next up is the Sunland-Tujunga Alliance fundraiser at Olde Towne Cafe in Tujunga. Forgot to mention Tee's on the Green at the VHGC has ALMOST received their bill & wine license. Only one step needs to be completed and that's up to the L.A. Planning Department. That's good news for Tee's as well as for the golf course. It's been very frustrating to Tiffany and Matt, owners of 'Tee's', that is has taken so long to reach this point and they continue to wait for that final action.
Also BANDITO PARK IS BACK! Actually it never went away entirely. Due to liability issues the owners have to have 'No Trespassing' signs on the property but Richard Stewart, AKA El Bandito, can continue creating his rock scultures on property. ;D
