We've stood for peace on a corner in Montrose, Calif. every Friday evening for 53 months but we've only gathered on the Internet for eight of those. This is an old fashioned message board -- not really a website, but a forum for information, insights and conversation, open to everybody 24 hours a day. The board is organized around topics and any guest can start one by clicking on "new thread." You'll find that icon in the blue bars on the index page of all six departments that you reach from the homepage. Or you can add to a thread by clicking on "reply" at the top and bottom of each page. Our little message board received a lot of guests from the rest of Los Angeles County -- and many from across the U.S., Canada and even the U.K. -- starting last March after our 40th anniversary tribute to John and Yoko's Amsterdam Bed-In. Then we mounted a Bigger and Bedder celebration of their Montreal Bed-In on May 29. Here are quick links to pages with plenty of photos and a few brief utterances, along with some planning for our next event: montrosepeacevigil.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=talk&action=display&thread=68&page=5montrosepeacevigil.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=talk&action=display&thread=68&page=6Please feel free to post your comments and questions -- or just say "hi" -- anywhere, including this thread!

Somebody just visited this message board from Moscow -- Russia, not Idaho. We had a guest once from the north of London and one from Montreal after I posted comments with links on the Bed-In page of Yoko's website, so I went back to see if anything was new. Scroll down a little: imaginepeace.com/news/archives/5782Well, the three photos and article from the Glendale News Press last March have been reproduced for a month, but I kept going to the latest message at the bottom of the page and didn't look up. Wow! Thank you, Yoko's webmaster, for including Montrose Peace Vigil. To guests here, please feel free to post. And here's a quick link to the page with more photos from our first Bed-In: montrosepeacevigil.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=talk&action=display&thread=61&page=6

Montreal, Moscow, London - cool! Thank you Yoko's webmaster & to all of you. Pretty sight a Bed-In Tribute with all the coolest people in the world up there on Imaginepeace.com. Does my old landlocked mermaid soul good. From one who has "Trodden the dusty road of common sense; While all the forest sang of liberty." - O. Wilde Out with Love, Always, Nancy

This message board had another hit from the same IP address in Russia yesterday! We were so excited about getting our first guest from Moscow last week -- imagine how a repeat visit was received. If you come back again, please consider saying "hello" -- or anything you'd like. Just click on "reply."
For those who wonder how I know where the guests are, ProBoards shows administrators the IP addresses of all guests and members, which are like phone numbers. Anyone can use free search engines that will specify the country of origin and the Internet service provider, like SBC or Verizon here in California. But they say the searches can only pick the city with 90 percent accuracy. Anyway, that's as much identification as I get -- or want. We respect everyone's privacy. So please feel welcome here!

Another way to read the Montrose Peace Vigil message board is this link to the 25 most recent posts, which also appears in the Info Center on our homepage: montrosepeacevigil.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=recentFrom there, you can click on any topic -- and also reply. Say whatever you want! Or just say "hi."

Our little message board had two visits from the same IP address in Beijing within 12 hours today. Someone in Moscow has been a regular guest for 11 weeks now. And hello again, New Hampshire! We the people of the Montrose Peace Vigil welcome you repeat visitors. And we invite you to reply on this board -- post your comments, questions or suggestions. Or just say "Peace!" Thank you for visiting. Feel free to click on "reply" in the blue boxes at the top and bottom of every page.

i know there's an application that you can enable where people can post little flags on a map of the earth to show where they're from.
obviously, most folks on MPV are from Cali-for-neye-aaaa but maybe it would be neat if you posted red flags on a map showing all the more recent guest activity so we could have a visual prompt of who seems to be attracted to the message board.
i know that people tend to want to lurk for a long time sometimes just to get the feel of a place. i know i hesitated for awhile before i joined "forum-world" some 10 years ago or so.
just a suggestion.
