Thanks, Brian and Anni, for passing this on. It is good of the Community Center to let us use their space for making empty bowls. If you'll are needing a ceramics fix and can't wait until November, do come to the sale. Make pots, not war.

Hello, Peaceniks.
I will not be at the corner tomorrow night because I will be at the pottery sale in La Canada. I believe it is an excused absence.

It's Friday, June 11, time for the spring ceramics sale, which continues tomorrow in nearby La Canada: That flyer implies that the community center is closed this Sunday, but Anni will be there with Jeanne and other enthusiastic wedgers and spinners from 2 to 6 p.m., making more for the fundraiser next autumn. Here's the page on the Crescenta Valley Empty Bowls website showing the Running of the Bowls last year: www.cvemptybowls.org/running-of-the-bowls.htmlThe fee is only $5 for the clay and instruction. Your next opportunity won't be until Sunday, July 18.

Okay, this really isn't Empty Bowls, but it's a distant cousin-MonkMail. Our peace reading group at CVUMC is hosting a letter writing event at the church at 7:30 next Monday night. Roberta, Paige, Susan and I will have some sample letters ready for you to personalize and send off to very important people. Topics will include veterans' issues, torture, and the peace garden. I'm working on some post cards for you to color. Feel free to join us on 7/28 at 2700 Montrose Avenue.
